An opportunity to make your mark!

LINZ is seeking two Senior Research and Evaluation Advisors to join its small Insight, Research and Evaluation team. The team sits within the Strategy and Stewardship business group, so there is an expectation that research and evaluation (R&E) staff will focus on the strategic priorities for meeting LINZ's outcomes, while at the same time supporting all staff to build an evidence base to inform their core business activities.

The Research and Evaluation (R&E) role is still relatively new to LINZ, so your infectious positivity, and willingness to help others build their knowledge and appreciation of R&E activities will be valued. There is work to be done to increase the profile of R&E; role model the competencies, ethics and standards associated with your professional identity; and develop the processes, protocols and information base for our new team. You may be required to help with developing surveys in Qualtrics, but your expert knowledge across a range of R&E methods is needed in this role.

Key Selection criteria includes:

  • Personal qualities of being a team player, willing to learn, adaptable, enthusiastic, and a self-starter
  • Strong experience across a range of R&E approaches
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal).

At Land Information New Zealand (LINZ), we underpin New Zealand's success with information about ‘where' – that is, location information. From the best way to develop farm land, build a new suburb, manage a high country farm or navigate on land or at sea, our work and location information help people make better decisions and create economic, social, environmental and cultural value for New Zealand.

LINZ is one of the most engaged organisations in the public sector and people always say what a fantastic place LINZ is to work. You will be joining a large, friendly family that keeps a balance between high-quality outputs, and social activities.

Please apply online and submit your CV, and cover letter outlining your skills and experience for this role. We are looking for evidence of how you meet each of the key selection criteria listed above.  Please advise if you are applying for the permanent role, the fixed term role, or if you would like to be considered for both.  The position description and details for applying can be found at the following link: Senior Advisor, Research & Evaluation.

For further information on this role please contact Niki Mansor, Senior Talent Sourcing Advisor on or 04 460 2705 or Sally Faisandier, Principal Advisor Research & Evaluation or 04 831 1594.

Applications close at 5.00pm Sunday, 8 October 2017.
